How are we to Witness?

We are to preach Life by our actions. We do not need to preach marriage...when we live the sacrament of marriage in our lives. We need not argue the sexual license of men lost in flesh. We must live out lives pure and holy. We must answer hate and strife and murder with love and forgiveness and blessing. Again, Peter instructs us, “Beloved, I beseech you as aliens and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh that wage war against your soul.” (1 Pet. 2.11)

Hear the words of Peter. We are exiles and aliens. Yet, in today’s America, we have lost our passion for Christ and have surrendered to the shallow way of the current culture. We shrink from witness so that we might get along. When we see evil before us, we remain silent. We fear loss of position or job or money or prestige.

While we keep silent in our shallow comfort, our sisters overseas face rape and torture and murder in the name of Jesus Christ. Their witness stands strong. Why are we not crying out to the whole earth against such crimes? Why concern ourselves with the foolishness which parades itself across our screens? Death stalks our brothers; we turn away.
